there as a shuttle coming through at the time so we got on and told him what happened, we ended up giving the keys to him. when we arrived at 4 am there was no one there so we had to take a ticket to get in and park the car. we had a 6 am flight back home she had explained to us we go to a little building and there will be someone to check us back in after hours. itdid not feel right we found out that a front tire and a rear tire had only 12 lbs of air in them we put air in them and it was much better. She came out explined you must put your foot on brake to start the car. I asked her if there was anyone to help us she said no just her she would be out in a few minutes. we looked it over the car was dirty and I went in to ask for help. we went to the car, looked it over and had no idea how to start the car, we do not have a car that you dont need a key to start. she was doing the best she could being the only one there. Only one person to take care of the customer. I would understand more if i missed the rental completely but i let them know before i was scheduled to even begin my rental.Ĭons: We lost my husbands sister and had to get to De for a funeral, When we arrived there was a line to pick up car. When i found out my travel plans were going to be delayed I tried to cancel my rental before it started and still kayak wouldnt work with me. I wouldn't have any bad feelings if kayak would just refund my money for a rental that i wasn't able to use. I gave Kayak a chance and I am very disappointed that i did. The worst part is i STILL had to pay to get another car rental elsewhere on top of my Kayak rental. So now I have to pay over $200 for a rental i didn't even use. Because EZ rental wouldn't allow me to get my car after 8pm i attemped to cancel the kayak reservation and they absolutely would not refund my money despite my unfortunate circumstances. 8pm is not very late and it completely screwed up my rental plans. I found out that the EZ rental facility closed at 8pm and i wouldn't be there until 10pm. My travel plans got delayed which caused me to arrive in Philly after 8 p.m. I needed a rent car in Philadelphia and i booked through Kayak. I gave Kayak a chance and it was a mistake. We call this unethical and bad business and will never recommend this company.Cons: My 1st time using Kayak and will be my last. As we were trying to find an Uber to get to another car rental location, another customer was going through the same run around and was being charged over $100 than what all her paperwork said. She went back to get him and came back to us and said the manager refused to see us and would not come out front. When we asked the woman if she was the manager she said, "well, kind of, but not really, I just help the manager." We then asked again to see the manager. We then asked to see the manager and someone else came out to talk to us. Which made zero sense because that's where I filled all the information out at the time of making the reservation. The NEXT reason they gave us for charging us so much more was that we came through the airport. When we pressed into why, the next reason they gave us was because we should have reserved the car through a third party like Expedia. The reason was (at first) that they had to come and pick us up from the airport. When we arrived at the business to pick up our car, we were charged over $120 more than our initial payment. Cons: We thought we were getting a great deal on a car rental for two weeks.
